Turmeric The Wonder Spice – Part 1
Most of us only know turmeric as a spice used in Indian cuisine, however it has been proven to have several health benefits alongside its ability to colour our curries.
Turmeric’s medicinal powers span many areas, amongst these the best known is its anti-inflammatory properties. Minor inflammation helps our bodies fight bacteria and so is good for us, however, over inflammation has been known to cause many common diseases including heart disease, Alzheimer’s and cancer.
The other well-known property of turmeric is it’s anti-oxidant qualities. Anti-oxidants are required by our bodies to fight free radicals, free radicals are highly reactive molecules with unpaired electrons. Our bodies naturally fight these free radicals, but turmeric not only protects against free radicals, it also helps our bodies produce more anti-oxidants.
There are many additional benefits of turmeric and we will talk about these in future blogs ? If you have any questions please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
